Chilewich: Woven Textiles for Indoor and Outdoor Spaces

Chilewich approaches rugs through an exploration of texture, pattern and colour. Founded by designer Sandy Chilewich in New York in 2000, the brand grew from her experimentation with extruded yarns and the possibilities of transforming an industrial material through textile design. Today, its New York design studio continues to explore surface and colour, developing graphic patterns and multi-tonal combinations that give Chilewich its distinctive visual language.

Material innovation is closely connected to how Chilewich rugs look and perform. The Shag collection ranged by Huset is made using looped TerraStrand yarns, creating a textured surface that is resistant to mould, mildew and chlorine, with a waterproof, non-skid vinyl backing. Designed for indoor and outdoor use, the mats are quick drying and easy to clean, making them suited to entrances, kitchens, terraces, pool areas and other spaces where practicality matters alongside design.

Huset's Chilewich collection is centred on Shag floor mats and rugs, with colour and pattern providing much of the range's character. Fine and broad stripes sit alongside solid, heathered and marbled surfaces, moving from restrained neutrals to blues, greens, orange, citron and multicolour combinations. Available across different sizes and formats, the collection can introduce a subtle layer of texture or a stronger graphic element to an indoor or outdoor setting.
