Rhys Cooper: Craft and Contemporary Production
Rhys Cooper established his studio in 2016, developing furniture, lighting and objects with a strong connection to craft and making. His early experience working directly with materials continues to inform his practice, while industrial production allows those ideas to be explored at a different scale.
Cooper pays close attention to the processes used to shape and assemble an object. Rather than treating manufacturing as a separate stage, he considers it part of the design from the outset. This allows material, construction and production to work together in a way that gives each piece clarity and purpose.
