Rikke Hagen graduated from the Danish School of Design in Glassware and Ceramics in 1998. For the following decade, she ran her own glass workshop, producing limited-edition pieces and developing first-hand knowledge of the material and its production.
Hagen's design process begins with drawing and develops through selection and simplification, with material and technique helping to guide the final result. Her experience as both a glassmaker and designer gives her work a practical understanding of how glass can be shaped for everyday use.
