The Basket rattan dining chair was originally designed by Swiss designer, Gian Franco Legler in 1951 for the Basket Restaurant in Italy. The Basket chair (rattan pulut) received the ‘good design award’ in 1953 from the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
The Basket rattan dining chair is suitable for indoor use only, ideal for commercial, hospitality, and residential application. Additionally, the stackable design of this chair gives the option to store away for space saving.
The simplicity of this comfortable stacking chair still resonates with today’s design and comfort requirements. Crafted from natural rattan and supported by a powder coated black stainless steel frame, it is a timeless piece that can work with a range of interiors. There is also an outdoor version of the Basket rattan dining chair available with either a natural or black polyethylene shell.
Rattan is a sustainable material – it’s raw and natural. Plus, the material evokes a timeless, elegant look. In keeping with Feelgood Designs’ focus on natural materials, innovative design, and quality, Lelger’s designs do not fail to disappoint. Combining the best of traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing and high-quality materials, Feelgood Designs’ Basket rattan dining chair works to create “feelgood” environments.
