Muuto’s Linear Steel Side Chair explores outdoor furniture through a distinctly pared-back form. Designer Thomas Bentzen balances slender tubular legs with a gently curved backrest and broad seat, creating a silhouette that feels light without losing visual presence. In Pale Blue, the chair introduces a soft wash of colour around an outdoor dining table, while the open back and curved upper rail give the design its recognisable graphic character. At 49.6cm wide and 54cm deep, its considered proportions allow multiple chairs to sit comfortably around a table without appearing visually heavy.

Steel designed for outdoor use

The chair is made from galvanised steel with a deep matt, UV-resistant powder-coated finish. This treatment gives the surface a subtle textured expression while improving resistance to weather, corrosion and chipping, making the chair suitable for outdoor settings. The seat sits at 46cm high and measures 43.3cm deep, while the overall chair height is 85.1cm. Plastic glides finish the legs, providing a practical point of contact with the floor.
