A Distinctive Study in Curves

Designed by Thomas Bentzen for Muuto, the Cover Lounge Chair balances a generous seat with a relatively compact footprint. Its character comes from the continuous curved back and sculptural armrests, where thin layers of wood fold over the frame to create the chair’s distinctive profile. A slightly curved, low-set leather seat softens the timber construction and gives the design a relaxed lounge proportion. In oak with cognac leather, the natural grain and warm upholstery create a tactile tonal contrast; the black version takes on a sharper, more graphic presence. Its considered scale makes it suited to living spaces as well as professional interiors.

Form-Pressed Oak and Refine Leather

The Cover Lounge Chair is constructed from form-pressed wood, with oak veneer used for the back and seat and solid oak for the frame and legs. The layered wood construction folds over the legs and backrest, helping lock the chair’s elements together while forming the characteristic armrest detail. A water-based lacquer finishes the timber, while the upholstered seat is specified in Refine Leather. At 66.3cm wide and 61.2cm deep, with an overall height of 70.7cm and seat height of 38.1cm, the chair maintains a low, open profile. Plastic glides complete the base.
