Designed by Norwegian design studio Anderssen & Voll for Muuto, the Rest 2 Seater Sofa takes an embracing approach to the classic sofa form. Its generous seat and back cushions sit within broad upholstered arms, creating the deep comfort at the heart of the Rest Series. Small folds in the upholstery introduce subtle detail and a relaxed quality to the otherwise simple, friendly lines. In Hearth 6, the softly textured neutral upholstery gives the generous silhouette a tactile presence, while slender black metal legs lift the form from the floor. The result is a contemporary two-seater that feels substantial and inviting without losing its clean aesthetic.
Designed from the Inside Out
Anderssen & Voll conceived the Rest Series from the inside out, allowing comfort to inform its shape and proportions. Beneath the upholstery, the frame combines plywood and HDF made from FSC™-certified wood with zig-zag springs, cold foam and wadding. This considered internal construction supports the sofa's inherently soft seat and generous form. Measuring 200 cm wide, 92 cm deep and 72 cm high, with a 42 cm seat height and 60 cm seat depth, Rest has a low, deep profile suited to relaxed seating. This Hearth 6 variant is finished with a black metal base, creating a crisp contrast against the upholstered body.
